Accreditation (A)
How can I apply for Media Accreditation?
Through the Hayya Media Portal. Currently, Media representatives who have obtained authorisation from respective Event Media Channels would receive a link to the Hayya Media Portal.
How can I apply for Broadcast Accreditation?
• Broadcasters who don’t require a standardised Film Permit to film across touristic locations in Qatar and/or plan to bring Hand-Carry Equipment and thus require approval, shall apply through the Hayya GVA Portal, following which they will be required to register their equipment in Hayya Media Portal.
• Broadcasters who wish to obtain a standardised Film Permit to film across touristic locations in Qatar and/or plan to bring Hand-Carry Equipment and thus require approval, shall apply through the Hayya Media Portal, further to obtaining an authorisation from respective Event Media Channel.
o Broadcasters who wish to apply in bulk, may opt for this option by contacting media@hayya.qa (a separate Advisory will be issued in this regard)
Do I need accreditation to enter the State of Qatar?
Media needs a Hayya E-Visa to enter the State of Qatar, which is issued alongside the Accreditation through the Hayya Media Portal.
What type of documents do I need to prepare to apply for Media Accreditation?
• Copy of Passport (Scan must contain visible passport information including picture, number etc., JPEG file type; Max size is 2Mb).
• QID - for Qatari Nationals & Residents (JPEG file type; Max size is 2Mb).
• Facial Photo (JPEG file type; Max size is 2Mb).
• Professional Credentials, including but not limited to Press Cards, Accreditation Badges of previous events, samples of previous publications, or any other letter or document that supports the application.
Can I apply for Media Accreditation as a Social Media Influencer?
Yes, for as long as sufficient information and evidence is provided.
Can I apply for Media Accreditation as a Blogger?
Yes, for as long as sufficient information and evidence is provided.
Can I apply for Media Accreditation when I hold an Organiser Accreditation?
No, media must hold Media Accreditation only, which can only be obtained via the Hayya Media Portal.
How long will it take for the application via the Hayya Media Portal to be processed?
The Application processing time will vary case to case depending on certain factors such as application submission date, data accuracy, data quality etc.
Which venues can I access using Media Accreditation?
This information will be provided by the Event Organisers.
How long is the Accreditation valid for?
Media Accreditation is valid from the date of physical collection of the card until the end of the event.
Where would I collect my Accreditation Card once I arrive in Doha?
• International and Local Media will be notified by email of the accreditation collection location and time.
Hayya E-Visa
How do I apply for a Hayya E-Visa?
The application process is unified, therefore, in applying for Media Accreditation, the same information will be used to generate the Hayya E-Visa without the need for another application.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
Personal Data inserted into the application has to be accurate and in line with Personal Identification Document (whether Passport or QID).
How long is the Hayya E-Visa valid for?
The Hayya E-Visa validity will depend on the duration and requirements of the event.
Is obtaining a Hayya E-Visa guaranteed once I complete the application with accurate information?
Application approval is subject to multiple criteria and submission alone is not a guarantee of Hayya E-Visa provision.
Can I add people (friends / family) to my Hayya as 'Media'?
No. Addition of friends & family applies to Visitors only.
Film Permit
How do I apply for a Film Permit?
The application process is unified, therefore, in applying for Media Accreditation via the Hayya Media Portal the same information will be used to generate a standardised Film Permit that will allow the recipient of the Media Accreditation to film in various locations around the country by presenting their Media Accreditation. A list of prohibited locations is also provided on the Hayya Media Portal where additional approvals are required to film.
How does the Film Permit look like?
The Film Permit will be issued as a camera icon on the Accreditation.
Would the Film Permit allow me to film anywhere in Qatar?
The Filming Permit (icon on the Accreditation) enable Media to take photos and videos around Qatar at touristic locations / open spaces, including but not limited to Souq Waqif, Qatar Foundation, Katara Cultural Village, Aspire and Msheireb Downtown etc.
Filming Permits do not permit the holder to film / take photos in restricted areas. These areas are marked with clear signs showing ‘no film’ / ‘no photos’, or where security guards of the location provide the same. These locations are also stated in the Application Terms & Conditions on the Hayya Media Portal.
Filming in locations that are restricted is prohibited and will subject the individual to legal action by the State of Qatar.
Media do not need to apply for Filming Permits independently. Film Permits will be generated as part of the Hayya Accreditation / Hayya E-Visa application submission.
How can I apply to restricted areas?

What are the Film Permit Terms & Conditions that I need to agree to when submitting my application on the Hayya Media Portal?
This permit allows filming/ photography across the State of Qatar, except for the following locations:
Barracks and Military Bases
Security or police buildings
Chancelleries
All borders (land, sea and aerial)
Residential properties, private businesses and industrial zones
Filming is prohibited inside the following:
Governmental, educational, health institutions and places of worship
Restricted areas where filming requires prior permission
Any site with signage or security advising of no photography/videography
The permit also does not allow filming with drones.
By submitting this form, you/ your organisation agree to the following terms:
Only capture film/ photography at permitted locations
Not to capture film/ photography at the excluded locations listed above
Respect the privacy of individuals & to not intrude on their personal lives or film them or their properties without their express prior approval
To comply with Qatari laws
Which locations are excluded from the Film Permit?
Film Permit Terms & Conditions provide direction needed with regards to locations that are not covered within the Film Permit. Please refer to Question Ref No. FP3.
Additionally, any location that is not listed in the answer against FP6, is considered excluded from the list.

Equipment Registration
What are the Cargo procedures of the State of Qatar?
• Media that intend to ship equipment / material through Air or Sea Freight must follow standard Customs Procedures detailed on the Customs Clearance Policy.
• Shipping requires the identification of a recognised shipping company.
What happens if I don’t declare Hand Carry Equipment ahead of arrival to Doha?
In the event that equipment is not declared through the submission of the Hand Carry form, equipment may be stopped at the airport.
How do I apply for Hand Carry Equipment with Radio Frequency?
• Any equipment with Radio Frequency must be declared to the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) ahead of arrival and use.
• To facilitate Media’s clearance of Hand Carry Equipment with Radio Frequency, Media must apply through the form made available on the Hayya Media Portal to declare such equipment at least two weeks ahead of arrival. The Hayya Media Portal links to the Communications Regulatory Authority, as such no further action is required from Media / Broadcaster with Hand-Carry Equipment with radio frequency.
What happens if I don’t declare Hand Carry Equipment with Radio Frequency ahead of arrival to Doha?
Equipment with Radio Frequency that has not been declared and approved by the CRA must not be used. If the equipment is used, it will be detected and the owner will be requested to register the equipment for approval (to obtain temporary frequency license/ authorisation). If usage continues without approval, the individual will be subjected to the equipment being confiscated.
Are there any items that I am prohibited from bringing into the State of Qatar?
A full list of prohibited items is available in the Hayya Media Portal.
What are the Equipment Clearance Terms & Conditions that need to be accepted once applying for the Hand Carry Form on the Hayya Media Portal?
• Each media organisation or representative is responsible for registering all filming equipment they plan to transport with them, through the Hayya Media Portal.
• The Equipment Clearance Form, which is available through the Hayya Media Portal, applies to hand-carry equipment only. (It does not include drone cameras and equipment transported to the country via cargo shipments or freight).
• Each media organisation or representative and broadcasters must list all wireless filming equipment, including LiveU, Microwave, Satellite and Videophone in The Equipment Clearance Form, which is available through the Hayya Media Portal, in order to obtain the necessary permits.
• Drone cameras are excluded from the approvals that can be processed via the Hayya Media Portal. The standard BAU process ought to be followed for Drone approvals which requires a submission through the LOC of the event to the Ministry of Interior in the State of Qatar.
• Kindly note that you should register filming equipment as soon as possible through the Hayya Media Portal, in order to avoid the risk of confiscation of unauthorised equipment through the country's border entry points.
Drones (DR)
What do I need to do if I wish to import / bring a drone?
Drone requests follow a separate procedure to that of the Hayya Media Portal. Drone requests need to be shared with Media / Broadcast Focal Point at the event LOC.
Accommodation (AC)
Can I book Accommodation through the Hayya Media Portal?
No.
Arrival (AR)
What do I need to present as I leave my original airport and enter HIA?
The Hayya E-Visa that was received on your email once having been successfully approved on the Hayya Media Portal.
If I am bringing Hand-Carry Equipment that was cleared through the Hayya Media Portal, do I need to present anything to the Customs team?
Yes, please have a copy of the email received with the approved list of equipment handy to present to the Customs team once the Immigration counter is cleared.
Is there a dedicated transport for Media & Broadcasters leaving the Airport?
No, there isn't dedicated transport in the form or buses or cars. Media & Broadcasters are welcome to use the Metro or Taxis.
